Backstreet Boys: The Backstreet Boys are synonymous with the boy band revolution of the mid-90's and early-2000's. They were the first, the highest selling, and some say the most popular boy band of their era, creating several hit albums, copious international tour dates, and fistfuls of awards.

The Backstreet Boys formed in 1993 when A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, and Howie Dorough answered an ad in the Orlando Sentinel for boy band auditions. The band was quickly signed to Jive records and their first self-titled album was released only in Europe and Asia, due to their success in the area. The album was later retooled and released in the US with additional tracks.

In the midst of a lawsuit with manager Lou Pearlman, the Backstreet Boys began recording their third album, Millennium. The album was an instant hit with over a million copies selling in the first week and the album topping the Billboard charts for 93 weeks. The album was the number one selling record of 1999 and eventually went platinum thirteen times. Their next album, Black and Blue, wasn't as huge as success as the first two, but still a success by normal standards by selling over 5 million copies internationally in the first week alone. At the start of 2001, the Backstreet Boys set up international tour dates for The Black and Blue Tour, which would span five continents. Shortly afterward, in 2002, the Backstreet Boys began having troubles with their management group and it prompted a break for the band.

After three years on hiatus, the band began to reform to work on their comeback album, Never Gone. The album took on a more serious tone and marked a sophistication for the Backstreet Boys as a band and individuals. Shortly after, Kevin Richardson left the band to pursue independent endeavors. This didn't stop the remaining members, and the Backstreet Boys released Unbreakable in 2007. Their latest album, This is Us, debuted in 2009 and marked the band's return to their upbeat dance songs fused with R&B. The album also marked a comeback of sorts for the band, showing that they could maintain their talent even with the loss of bandmate Kevin Richardson.

In 2011, the quartet embarked on a concert tour with the remaining members of New Kids On The Block, where they sang hits from both bands. The supergroup released a eponymous compilation further rekindled public interest in a new Backstreet Boys album and tour. Fans got their wish in 2013 when the boys set out on a sweeping international tour in support of their newest album, In a World Like This, which broke into the top 5 on the charts in the US. Now, more than ever, Backstreet's back.

Jesse McCartney: Pop singer and actor Jesse McCartney was a child performer dynamo, singing on Broadway and landing an acting gig on All My Children before even joining his first boy band, a feat that came at the age of 12. Teen poppers Dream Street scored a platinum album with their self-titled debut before spinning off the careers of Chris Trousdale and McCartney himself, who started contributing music to children's films like Cinderella Story ("The Best Day of My Life"), Stuck in the Suburbs ("Good Life"), and Ella Enchanted, for which he performed a version of Elton John's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with star Anne Hathaway. McCartney returned to acting in 2004 with a role on the WB teen drama Summerland. He also finished up work on his first solo full-length. "Beautiful Soul" was the album's title track and lead single, and its smooth blend of pop/rock sensibilities punched up with R&B inflections and danceable beats proved to be a template for the record itself. Beautiful Soul was issued in September 2004 and eventually peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200. McCartney returned in 2005 with a live album documenting his Soul tour. Right Where You Want Me, McCartney's proper sophomore effort, arrived in fall 2006.
